World Council of Churches - Thursdays in Black
Each week the World Council of Churches invites Christians around the globe to wear black on Thursdays as a simple but powerful act of witness. Thursdays in Black is a campaign toward a world without rape and violence. By wearing black, we stand with all who suffer from violence and injustice, and we declare that another way is possible - a way of respect, safety, and peace.
Here in Louisiana, we join this worldwide movement. Each Thursday, we can choose to wear black as a visible sign of solidarity and hope. Whether at home, at work, in school, or in church, our collective witness matters.
We invite you to join us. Wear black each Thursday. Share the message. Pray and work for a world without violence.
