We are grateful to Our Lady of Prompt Succor for hosting this gathering:

Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church

146 Fourth Street

Westwego, LA, 70094

At the Louisiana Interchurch Conference, we live into this mosaic-like vision of the Church. Our mission is to celebrate the diversity of Christ's body while working in unity to care for creation, welcome the stranger, and seek justice for all.

The 2026 Annual Assembly of the Louisiana Interchurch Conference will be a time to embody this vision. Together we will:

  • pray and worship together as a united Body of Christ

  • hear from advocates for the dignity and well-being of immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers,

  • hear from those working to end the use of the death penalty in Louisiana

  • learn about new and emerging energy technologies (like carbon capture) and how they might affect our communities

  • learn more about keeping our church facilities and members safe (including physical and digital safety)

I invite you to join us as we gather to worship, reflect, and act together as one body on March 10, 2026 (9am-4pm) for the 56th Annual Assembly of the Louisiana Interchurch Conference.

Attendees are asked to consider a $100 donation to assist with covering the cost of lunch and other expenses for the Annual Assembly. However, there is no fee to attend. All are welcome.

Donations can be made online: Louisiana Interchurch Conference Online Donation Portal

Annual Assembly attendees may also make a donation via check in person at the event or by mail:

What to Expect

Who Should Attend

The Louisiana Interchurch Conference Annual Assembly is a one-day gathering that brings together Christians from across traditions for prayer, worship, and shared conversation.

In a time when churches are often separated by denomination, geography, or perspective, the Annual Assembly offers a rare opportunity to come together ecumenically. We gather to worship God side by side, to pray for our communities and our state, and to engage pressing issues with honesty, care, and hope.

This day reflects the heart of LIC’s work: building relationships across difference, grounding our public witness in prayer, and seeking faithful ways forward together. Participants can expect a meaningful rhythm of worship, learning, and conversation, as well as time to connect with others who care deeply about the life of the Church in Louisiana.

Whether this is your first ecumenical gathering or a familiar one, the Annual Assembly is an invitation to show up, listen deeply, and remember that we do not walk this path alone.

The Annual Assembly is open to all who care about the life of the Church and its witness in Louisiana, including:

  • Clergy from all Christian traditions

  • Lay leaders and congregational members

  • Judicatory and denominational staff

  • Seminarians and students exploring ministry

  • Ecumenical partners and community leaders

You do not need prior experience with ecumenical work to attend, only a willingness to show up with curiosity, openness, and care for the wider Church.

In gathering together, we discover again that the Church is bigger than any one tradition and stronger when we listen, pray, and walk together.
