  Speaker Session -- PUBLIC INVITED:

3:15 p.m. - 4:15 p.m. Presentation I: “The Church, the Reformation and the Quest for Unity” (Part I)

with Dr. Denis R. Janz, Professor Emeritus, Department of Religious Studies at Loyola University. Professor Janz has studied Christian history, the reformation and the works of Martin Luther extensively. He has traveled and made presentations in many countries, written & edited numerous books/ publications, & is currently in the process of writing another book about Luther.

 

4:15 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Break

 

  Speaker Session -- PUBLIC INVITED:

4:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Response, table groups and conversation

 

5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Break for Dinner

 

6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Evening banquet at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in fellowship hall.

 

  Evening Worship -- PUBLIC INVITED:

7:30 p.m. Evening Worship Service at the historic St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, opened in

1899. Hosting pastor is Fr. James Ferguson, JCL, with homily to be given by Rev. Irma Bañales, Director of Evangelical Mission of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

 

Tuesday, September 26

9:00 a.m.-9:30 a.m. Morning Prayer (in St. Francis Xavier Chapel).

 

  Speaker Session -- PUBLIC INVITED:

9:30 a.m.-10:45 a.m. Presentation II: “The Church, the Reformation and the Quest for Unity”

Part II) with Dr. Denis R. Janz, Professor Emeritus, Department of Religious Studies at Loyola University, to be followed by conversation and dialogue.

 

10:45 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Break
